FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIFTH ANNUAL POPCORN N ROSES RISING STARS LIST TO BE ANNOUNCED JULY 4

Since 2006, the Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list has been one of the most-watched of its kind in the internet film community. In past years, Popcorn N Roses has been first in naming some of the fastest rising stars around, including Michael Angarano, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Anton Yelchin, and Ellen Page.

The fifth annual Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list will be announced on a special edition of the website's popular film podcast Subject:CINEMA, this Sunday, July 4 at 6 PM Eastern.

The format has changed this year. Rather than each selecting their own list, Subject:CINEMA hosts TC Kirkham and Kim Brown have pooled their resources to come up with one.

Also, for the first time, the list will be ranked from #10-1 in both male and female categories. Previously they have named only a #1 Rising Star with the rest unranked. Past #1 male and female winners have been Michael Angarano and Keira Knightly (2006), John Robinson and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (2007), Anton Yelchin and Olivia Thirlby (2008), and Michael Welch and Kristen Stewart (2009).

The Popcorn N Roses Rising Stars list has had an impressive track record with over 70% of the list honorees jumping into the Hollywood spotlight within the following 12 months.
